A Place for Family and Friends to Gather
Just the name of it sounds like a cool, laid-back place.
BoHo Links is a local golf complex that has a lot of options for golf entertainment and more. It has been open a little over half a year and is well on its way to gaining popularity. It is like a golf lover’s dream, only better, because it’s not just for golfers.
In fact, there’s so much to do, visitors might stay all day. Get in some practice swings at the driving range, play a little golf, or enjoy a relaxed game of putt-putt with the family. Grab some food and a cold beer, then call it a day. Unless there’s live music. Then you might want to stick around.
How it Evolved
Owner Ben Hooker explained how the golf center got to where it is today. The former Lake Murray Golf Center was abandoned for years. He and his business partners purchased the 33-acre property in August 2026. “We started a massive transformation project to bring it back to life,” Hooker said. Being vacant for so long, it needed a lot of work. After months of renovating, they opened BoHo Links in December 2026. Updates are on-going with recent attention to the greens.
“It’s now a fully reimagined driving range with Toptracer technology, a revitalized Par 3 course, and a brand new putt-putt experience built for families, friends, and anyone looking to have a good time,” he said. “This isn’t just a reopening—it’s a transformation.”
He described the center as very family-centric and suitable for all ages and different golf skill levels. “We’ve created a space where beginners feel welcome, experienced players can sharpen their game, and the community has a place to gather,” Hooker said. “Lights are on, music is playing, and every night feels like something is happening.” Daily events, plenty of outside space, and live music are part of the vibe. Bring a group of friends, the family, or go by yourself.
BoHo Links offers golf, entertainment, food, and drinks. “It’s supposed to be an epicenter,” he said. “You don’t have to be a golfer to come hang with us. There are a lot of different elements.”
Some of the scheduled events have been a Hole in One Challenge, A Toptracer Golf League, and Music Bingo. In April, following the Masters tournament, they held a green jacket competition at the Par 3 course. The fun keeps on going.
The Golf Experience
In addition to a driving range with Toptracer technology, the Par 3-course has 9 holes, and the putt-putt has 18 holes. What’s Toptracer? “It turns the driving range into a video game,” Hooker said. “You can play virtual courses, compete with friends, and see your shots traced like the pros on TV.” It’s interactive entertainment.
The Caddy’s Shack Restaurant
And you don’t have to go hungry…or thirsty. The Caddy’s Shack restaurant and bar is situated on the property.
Food at the restaurant has items with catchy golf names. Shareables include tasty appetizers like a Bunker pretzel with pimento cheese or beer cheese, Fairway fried pickles, Mulligan nachos, and 19th hole wings. If you’re really hungry or need to share with several friends, go for the Hole in One Platter complete with wings, tots, a pretzel, mozzarella sticks, and fried pickles. Sandwiches include The Eagle Philly, The Turn Dog, Pulled Pork Par Shot, The Clubhouse Club, and more.
The Links Locker Pro Shop
Check out the pro shop and the merchandise. The Links Locker Pro Shop offers golf equipment and supplies right when you need it. Look for things like clothing, golf clubs, golf balls, grips, hats, and gloves. Golf lessons and clinics are also available.
What’s Next?
Future plans are to have an arcade and another restaurant on site. Hooker also owns BoHo Pizza and Brewery in Lexington and hopes to bring the pizza to BoHo Links.
